The Summer Employment Opportunities Program provides opportunities for students who are 15 years of age and older. Students must be at least 15 years of age as of the first day of employment (students can commence their contracts between May and July of the program year).

Diverse Talent Stream
The Ontario Public Service (OPS) is committed to building a workforce that reflects the communities we serve and to promote a diverse, anti-racist, inclusive, accessible, and merit-based workplace. Applicants who do not belong to any of the four groups or who choose not to identify will be assigned to the all-applicant talent pool. Please note Diverse Talent Stream candidates will not be required to disclose their individual identities.
Please consider the following four definitions prior to responding to the below self-attestation. (1) Indigenous Persons include persons that are of First Nations, Métis, and/or Inuk descent. (2) Persons with Disabilities include persons with physical, mental, and learning disabilities, hearing or vision disabilities, substance use dependencies, environmental sensitivities, as well as other conditions that limit activities of daily living. (3) Black Persons include persons that are of African, Afro-Caribbean descent / African-Canadian descent. (4) Bilingual Persons include persons that are proficient in oral and written French and English.

A key objective of the SEO program is to build a talent continuum that will enable the OPS to attract, hire, and retain top student talent. In order to establish a student talent inventory, the SEO program is asking all applicants to indicate their current interest and availability for employment with the OPS following the completion of their SEO contracts. This information may be used to fill upcoming vacancies for entry level positions in the OPS. At this point in time, will you be available and interested in an employment opportunity with the OPS following the completion of your SEO contract? Please note, if you select “No” or “I prefer not to answer”, your application will not be considered for future employment opportunities with the OPS.
